I’m Ty Nelson, owner and general contractor for Ty Nelson Design & Remodel. located in Billings, Montana where I grew up. I have 18 years of construction and contractor experience working in just about every aspect of construction.
While working for other companies, I found the time it took to finish a job was always more important than the actual craftsmanship. This resulted in shortcuts and frustration between both workers and customers. That is why I started Ty Nelson Design & Remodel in 2001 with a commitment to quality standards and customer service.
It was important to me to provide the best, so I started working with the best, establishing relationships with other like-minded, detailed oriented companies and subcontractors. In doing so, I was able to provide the highest level of quality in a timely manner, without the problems that some companies face.
My subcontractors are driven by the same ideals as me, so there is a higher level of trust and accountability which benefits everyone.
I truly enjoy working with my clients, building trust and ensuring their expectations are always met. In the end, when the project is finished, I take pride in knowing my work helps a family make a house into a home.
The Billings community is a generous one. After hearing the struggles of a 16-year-old confined to a wheelchair, multiple agencies got together to build him a wheelchair ramp.
Cole Barnes needed a wheelchair ramp to his home, and his mom says it will give him independence.
"...this will give him an opportunity to come outside in the summer, walk around the block and get back in the house on his own," says Jamie Barnes, Coles mom.
